If you had oodles of money, and could afford to hire help for one area of your life, would you hire a gardener, cleaner, cook, personal trainer, or some other profession?
For me it would for sure be a Gardener, I would love a really pretty garden, with terrific grass, loads of flowers, and fruits and vegetables a plenty, but I'm way to lazy (and frankly don't have the time) to do it. One day.......

So what are some of your favorite foods, and what foods can't you stand. How have you tastes changed over the years?

For me I'm currently pregnant with baby #3, and am craving brussell sprouts, odd but true. There are two foods I hate: Shrimp (they looks like babies fingers or embryo's), and Olives (messed up grapes). Aside from that I love, or can tolerate anything else. I used to hate sweetcorn, mushrooms, parsnips, and eggplant would make me gag, but I love those things now. Maybe there's hope for my kids yet......

Today is Pancake Day in the UK, and I always used to love this holiday growing up - a day filled with snarfing down pancakes, pretty much my dream day:), whilst it doesn't top Christmas, it's right up there.

Recently there were some wildfires near where we lived and homes in the area had about 10 minutes to be evacuated. My husband and I were talking at night about what we would grab once we had the children and our dogs safe. For me the only thing I REALLY care about would be our computer as it has all the photo's and video's on there of our life together as a family so far.

If you had ten minutes to get out of your house, and there was a chance that everything you left in there would be destroyed, what would you grab?

My mum passed away about 6 years ago and before that had Alzheimer's for about 7 years, so she was here, but not here at the same time, if you know what I mean. She was a fantastic cook and could whip something up out of nothing, one of my favorites was her ginger cake, mmmmm, it was so good! I never saw her use a recipe book at all, she just seemed to know what to do, and do it well. Whilst she was ill I wish I'd asked to write down some of these recipes for me, but it was too late by then, so even though my kids are little (2 yrs and 5 months), I have started to write out my favorite recipes so that they will always have them if they want them. So that brings me on to this weeks topic:

Prayers Needed - A Plea

My friend Alisha is 19 weeks pregnant, and her waters broke a few days ago. They are hoping she can keep the baby in for another 5 weeks to give him or her a chance (she had her first baby at 34 weeks and 2nd at 26 weeks). I know if this was my baby I would want, and need, everyones prayers, miracles happen when faith is united. You can read a post her husband made about it all here, why don't you stop by and leave a comment sharing your love and support, I know it will lift her up.

I thought of you,

and closed my eyes,

and prayed to God today

I asked ‘What makes a mother?”

and I know I heard him say

‘A mother has a baby’ this we know is true.

But God, can you be a mother, when your baby’s not with you?

‘Yes you can,’ he replied with confidence in his voice

‘I give many women babies. When they leave, is not there choice.’

‘Some I send for a lifetime, and others for the day, and some I send to fill your womb, but there’s no need to stay.’

I just don’t understand this God, I want my baby here.

He took a deep breath and cleared his throat,

and than I saw the tear.

‘I wish that I could show you, what your child is doing today. If you could see your child smile with all the other children and say…

We go to earth to learn our lessons

My mommy loved me oh so much,

I am so excited for spring to come and to see some flowers again, finally! My favorite flowers are freesia's because they are so delicate looking, and smell, well...... heavenly. I'm all about fragrant flowers which is why the oriental lily is a close runner up.

This week is National Library Week, so the topic is:

Tell us about the last book that you read, or what your favorite one is.

I hadn't read a book, apart from the obligatory Parenting/Baby books for a few years until I gave in and read Twilight (which I swore I would never do!) - I ended up reading the 4 books and 5 days, and lost a few pounds on the Twilight diet - which basically consists of reading obsessively and maybe eating a snack once a day to keep you going, so you can stay up longer reading more and more! That was last November and I have since got the reading bug back. The last one I read was 'Hunger Games' by Suzanne Collins. I loved it! A good cat and mouse chase, with a undeclared love story (I am all sappy after Twilight), there's alot about humanity and the power of love and courage.

Have you ever had an April Fools Day prank pulled on you, or pulled a prank on someone? Share what happened.

Pranks performed on April Fool's Day range from the simple, (such as saying, "Your shoe's untied!), to the elaborate. Setting a roommate's alarm clock back an hour is a common gag. Whatever the prank, the trickster usually ends it by yelling to his victim, "April Fool!"

Practical jokes are a common practice on April Fool's Day. Sometimes, elaborate practical jokes are played on friends or relatives that last the entire day. The news media even gets involved. For instance, a British short film once shown on April Fool's Day was a fairly detailed documentary about "spaghetti farmers" and how they harvest their crop from the spaghetti trees! Also in Britain you only have until 12pm to do your prank, otherwise the joke is on you!

It's simply a fun little holiday, but a holiday on which one must remain forever vigilant, for he may be the next April Fool!

Who has been the most influential woman in your life, and why?

Sunday was International Womens Day which is something that has been around since 1911. Annually on 8 March, thousands of events are held throughout the world to inspire women and celebrate achievements. In some countries it's a national holiday. The tradition sees men honouring their mothers, wives, girlfriends, colleagues, etc with flowers and small gifts. So, basically a day to celebrate the awesomeness of women:).

In the last few years both of my parents have passed away, with my father being the most recent in, Feb 2009. There have been key events, like getting married and having a baby, that have happened since my mum passed away three years ago, and there were so many questions that I had for her especially during my pregnancy, that I never thought to ask. This blog was created to give suggestions for topics that could be included as part of my personal or family history, and hopefully yours. I will post a new topic every week. Feel free to leave comments with your thoughts about the subject on this blog, but more importantly, simply record or share your answers in any way you wish.
