Topic for Tuesday 31st March - April Fools!

Have you ever had an April Fools Day prank pulled on you, or pulled a prank on someone? Share what happened.

Pranks performed on April Fool's Day range from the simple, (such as saying, "Your shoe's untied!), to the elaborate. Setting a roommate's alarm clock back an hour is a common gag. Whatever the prank, the trickster usually ends it by yelling to his victim, "April Fool!"

Practical jokes are a common practice on April Fool's Day. Sometimes, elaborate practical jokes are played on friends or relatives that last the entire day. The news media even gets involved. For instance, a British short film once shown on April Fool's Day was a fairly detailed documentary about "spaghetti farmers" and how they harvest their crop from the spaghetti trees! Also in Britain you only have until 12pm to do your prank, otherwise the joke is on you!

It's simply a fun little holiday, but a holiday on which one must remain forever vigilant, for he may be the next April Fool!

  1. Hi Sarah! Just found your blog through a comment you left on a mine a while back. In answer to your question, my husband is a huge prankster, which I forget every year for some reason. (You may have read our engagement story on my site and the stunt he pulled when we got engaged two years ago today.) So you'd think with all of that I would be looking for it. But no.

This morning after his dentist appt. he called and sounded really upset while he told me how he he needed two new root canals and crowns and it was going to cost us $6,000. That by itself is bad but couple that with the fact that I'm going on Monday to get braces, and we have a problem. So I started to get upset and worry about how we'd pay for everything until he said, "April Fool's"!

    I hung up on him.

    :)
